How local audio conversion works

Audio tools use ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. The engine downloads to the browser, reads the selected file locally, and writes the converted output into browser memory.

Conversion cannot restore detail already lost from a compressed source. Keep an original WAV or other master file when archival or editing quality matters.
