About browser page numbering
This tool reads the selected PDF with pdf-lib, embeds Helvetica, draws a small page number label on every page, and saves the result locally. There is no upload step and no server-side document storage.
Choose all pages or a range such as 2-5, 8. Set plain numbers or n / total labels, a starting number, size, color, opacity, and one of six positions. The tool does not rebuild layouts, edit existing text, OCR scans, or remove existing headers and footers.
Useful examples
- Skip a cover page with the range 2-20, then start the visible numbering at 1.
- Place a subtle 8 pt gray number in the bottom-right corner of a report.
- Use “n / total” centered at the bottom for a handout or contract review copy.
Does this upload my files?
No. Everything on this page runs locally in your browser, so your files are never uploaded to a conversion server. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
